About Dr. Duke
Dr. Duke Mansell is a nationally board-certified (NCCAOM) Doctor of Oriental Medicine and licensed Acupuncture Physician serving Tampa, Florida. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and received honors for exceptional clinical knowledge and skills. As the founder of Wholistic Medical Group in Tampa, Dr. Duke combines holistic and integrative medicine, functional medicine principles, clinical nutrition, acupuncture, dry needling, and other evidence-informed natural therapies. His practice focuses on helping patients with gut and digestive health concerns, chronic fatigue and low energy, hormone and metabolic issues, chronic pain and inflammation, headaches and migraines, and other persistent or complex health concerns. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, Dr. Duke takes a whole-person approach designed to identify factors that may be contributing to a patient's health concerns. This may include evaluating nutrition, lifestyle, digestive function, metabolic health, stress and recovery patterns, and appropriate laboratory findings. Treatment plans are individualized and may incorporate nutritional strategies, targeted supplementation, acupuncture, functional testing, and other non-pharmaceutical approaches. For more than a decade, Dr. Duke has integrated principles from Eastern and Western medicine to provide patients with a practical, individualized approach to improving health and function. His goal is to help patients better understand why they are experiencing persistent symptoms and what can be done to address the underlying contributors to those symptoms.
The Inspiration
My approach to health care began with my own experience as a patient. Years ago, I developed a complex health problem that remained unresolved despite seeing numerous physicians and specialists throughout Tampa. Eventually, I found myself sitting across from a neurosurgeon discussing brain surgery. That experience fundamentally changed the direction of my life and ultimately led me to explore a different approach to understanding health and chronic illness. I began studying how nutrition, digestive health, metabolic function, inflammation, lifestyle, and the function of interconnected body systems can contribute to persistent symptoms. That journey eventually led me to Oriental medicine, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, and the holistic and functional medicine principles that form the foundation of my work today. Over more than a decade in practice, I have continued to refine an approach that begins by looking at the overall health and function of the body rather than focusing exclusively on an individual symptom or diagnosis. When appropriate, this includes evaluating digestive and gut health, nutrition, metabolic and hormonal factors, stress and recovery, inflammation, and other potential contributors to a patient's health concerns. This philosophy is central to my work at Wholistic Medical Group in Tampa: understand the person as a whole, identify factors that may be interfering with normal function, strengthen the foundations of health, and then address the patient's specific concerns with an individualized plan.

The History
Dr. Duke began Wholistic Medical Group (WMG) to provide solutions missing in conventional care. Current medical care approaches medicine from a germ based perspective. There has to be a “boogey-man” or offending agent and then a solution that either obliterates it, suppresses it, or cuts it out. While this has its place it does not provide for those who don't have anything wrong with them according to labs and images but don't feel well. It also does not help those who do not wish to take medications as a lifestyle when the medication does not resolve the condition but circumvents it, usually with side effects that are unwanted.
Dr. Duke has been amazing! My husband and I both use him for different health reasons and he is better than we anticipated, we have been looking for someone with services like his for a long time.
