Twelve years ago when I myself was diagnosed with leaky gut the term was barely a footnote on the internet. Now you can't turn around without reading about all the causes and problems associated with this condition. True, it is very prevalent, but all the answers on the internet have still left a lot of people with lingering issues.
What are some of the symptoms of leaky gut?
Allergies
Asthma
Autism
Autoimmune disease
Eczema and psoriasis
Inflammatory bowel disease
Rheumatoid arthritis
Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS)
Type 1 diabetes
These are just a few of the potential issues caused or exacerbated by leaky gut. Others include: gas, bloating, distention, pain before or after eating, brain fog, irritability, constipation/diarrhea.
Dont worry, my proven protocol is on its way but until then try this superfood.
BROCOLLI!
In a recent study, when mice ate broccoli with their regular diet, they were better able to tolerate digestive issues similar to symptoms of leaky gut and colitis than mice that were not placed on a broccoli-supplemented diet
The researchers, who released their findings in the current issue of the Journal of Functional Foods, suggest that cruciferous vegetables — such as broccoli, brussels sprouts and cabbage — contain an organic chemical compound called indole glucosinolates, which breaks down into other compounds, including indolocarbazole — ICZ — in the stomach.
When ICZ binds to and activates the Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) in the intestinal lining, it aids in maintaining a healthy balance in the gut flora and immune surveillance, and enhances host barrier function, according to the researchers. This may help prevent diseases, such as various cancers and Crohn’s Disease, caused by inflammation in the lining of the gut.
Until my protocol with Dr Duke Formula supplements is rolled out increasing cruciferous vegetables is a good way to alleviate a host of gastrointestinal issues.
